In a more general way, Trotskyist candidates find it difficult to outline even the broad outlines of the desired society (of the desired socialism, beyond general phrases such as a "workers' government"), which leads them to withdraw into "revindicativism." of a union type and in  a discourse of "struggles": putting the body defines current Trotskyism (for example, in comparison with the so-called "progressivism") and therefore, it is possible to see its deputies in the front line of the mobilizations , as in the recent protests in the province of Jujuy , where they were repressed by the police.

The PTS speaks today of « revolutionary parliamentarism»» and has India Email List certain readings of the Italian communist Antonio Gramsci as a way of dealing with these problems without accepting, at least explicitly, any form of reformism. And, broadly, the FIT-U has articulated with the struggles of the women's movement –whose milestone was the legalization of abortion–, of sexual minorities and environmentalists –in a context of the rise of neo-extractivism linked to the energy transition in the global North, as exemplified by lithium mining.



But the Trotskyist identity itself, associated with a Marxism-Leninism often too tied to "sacred texts", together with a certain teleological arrogance, works as a limit to a broader political-social articulation and to the possibility of updating the socialist project in the face of the new material and symbolic conditions.
